Duty and Taxes

Duties and Taxes outside of Norway

Our store is based in Norway which means that if you order to a different country other than Norway you may have to pay your own country's import taxes, VAT, and customs duty after you received your products depending on your location. It is important to note that these taxes are not included in the order total or the shipping cost.

If you have concerns regarding applicable customs charges to your country or state, we advise you to contact your local customs office to find out what fees may be relevant to you.

What is Customs Duty?

Customs Duty is a tax charged on all products. In the UK for example this is controlled by HM Revenue and Customs, the purpose of this is to bring the cost of imported goods up to the same cost as those produced within the UK/EU to keep competition fair. You can find more information about the UK tax and customs here.

What's the duty and taxes process?

We use FedEx for our international shipments and they may pay any taxes and duties on your behalf, this will also incur a small administration fee. FedEx will contact you if there are any duty and tax charges for you to pay. You can find the FedEx duty and tax information here

Unfortunately taxes, VAT and customs charges are out of our control and Whatever The Season is not responsible for covering these costs. Whatever The Season is not responsible for any additional taxes or charges that may occur during the journey of your order.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions at all about taxes and duties. We will try our best to help you have all the relevant information you need before you order. You can email us at support@whatevertheseason.com.

Multiple Currency Checkout

Why is the price in a different currency when I check out?

Our store is located in Norway and because of this we have to (at the moment) use Norwegian Kroner in the check out. This means the final price is displayed in Norwegian Kroner but don't worry there are no extra charges and you'll get the most current exchange rate. You can still browse and see the total in your cart in your local currency.

We recommend using an online currency converter if you want to convert the checkout amount back into your own currency before purchasing. Based on when the payment comes out of your account, the price may vary by a very small amount from the one that you saw in your cart but this is only due to exchange rate fluctuations.

If you have any questions about this then please do not hesitate to contact us at support@whatevertheseason.com
